The assertion that non-U.S. citizens are voting through the UOCAVA (Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act) program has no basis in fact. The integrity of this program has never been in question, and attempts to mislead or cast doubt on it will not succeed.
Having dedicated 20 years to the UOCAVA program, I can confidently say that,
“This voting program, which has served military and overseas voters for decades, is both robust and transparent. Those of us committed to ensuring that UOCAVA voters can participate in our democratic process welcome any scrutiny. Any examination will demonstrate how well-designed and secure the program is, allowing eligible voters to submit their ballots on time and ensuring that each vote is properly counted.”
The suggestion that UOCAVA is being exploited by non-U.S. citizens is unfounded. We welcome any review or investigation of the program's processes, knowing that election officials across the country are well-trained in its implementation. The integrity, security, and legality of UOCAVA voting are firmly established, and no amount of misinformation will change that.
In response to those who have falsely accused overseas citizens of illegal voting, I say:
"You have given us the opportunity to reaffirm our voting rights. We are voting lawfully, as is our right as U.S. citizens, and these accusations are completely unfounded.”
